Cuomo Accuses Fauci of Playing Politics

(NationalUSNews.com) — On Thursday, Andrew Cuomo, the former Democratic governor of New York, said that he thinks Dr. Anthony Fauci engaged in politics during COVID-19 to maintain his job, alleging pressure from then-President Donald Trump as the reason.

Cuomo was interviewed on “No BS News Hour with Charlie LeDuff,” discussing his actions during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Cuomo was questioned about Fauci, and although he lauded the ex-director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) as a fine public servant, he also implied that Fauci was afraid of Trump.

Cuomo said that, in his opinion, he was helpful for a long time. He supposed he was frightened by Trump, who always seemed to have something new to say. Fauci probably wanted to remain employed.

Cuomo claimed that no one is looking to the president or state governor for answers to this unprecedented event. He then said Trump lied to the American people often. He just made it up and continued making fresh renditions every time he spoke, and that’s when people became nervous, Cuomo said.

Many reports show that during the early days of the epidemic, when tests were scarce, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo reportedly prioritized COVID-19 testing to benefit his family first.

Three whistleblowers informed the media that Governor Cuomo and Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker ordered the NY State Department of Health to give preference to COVID-19 testing on Cuomo’s family and others close to the administration.

When Cuomo ordered nursing facilities to take in more than 9,000 recuperating COVID-19 patients, he was attacked for mishandling concerns relating to the virus.

He made it illegal for nursing homes to turn away patients who had been diagnosed with the virus or were thought to have it. There were more than 4,000 nursing home patient fatalities reported over the order’s duration.

There were fatalities in 323 nursing homes, despite there having been no previous cases of COVID-19 documented there.

Federal prosecutors opened an investigation when it was discovered that Cuomo’s administration had grossly underreported the number of nursing facility fatalities, and the New York state legislature opened an impeachment probe.

According to reports in August 2021, 11 women came out accusing Cuomo of physical harassment, leading to his resignation. But Cuomo alleged he resigned so that New York state officials could keep their attention on the COVID-19 epidemic.
