(NationalUSNews.com) — Kari Lake, a well-known conservative figure and former Arizona gubernatorial candidate, has made headlines by stating that the founding fathers didn’t want the United States to be run by bureaucrats.
Lake, a former news anchor has been in the news frequently in recent memory, given her outspoken stance on many issues and an ongoing legal battle she’s embroiled in. She made her comments about the founding fathers during an interaction with One America’s reporter Daniel Baldwin at the annual Faith and Freedom conference. Lake’s appearance at the conference wasn’t widely covered, as multiple Republican presidential candidates appeared at the event and gave speeches that discussed topics like inflation and abortion. Lake called for Republicans to embrace the idea of ballot harvesting, and discussed how the party wants more conservatives to register to vote for next year’s presidential election.
Lake has been making headlines consistently since her failed attempt at running for Governor in Arizona. Despite her failure to secure election, Lake has become a national figure and seems to be a close ally to former President Donald Trump. Lake is also the focus of a defamation lawsuit, in which she’s alleged to have defamed a top election official from Arizona during her failed attempt at running for governor. The former newswoman remains an outspoken critic of various Democratic policies, with some citizens believing that she could even be chosen as Donald Trump’s running mate if he wins the Republican nomination next year.
According to sources close to Donald Trump, Lake has essentially been living at his Mar-a-Lago home for some time. Although this could just be a coincidence, it seems Trump could be gearing up to tap Lake as his potential Vice President. Trump has yet to deny or confirm his intention to choose Lake as his running mate, but as of yet she appears to be the most likely choice.
