(NationalUSNews.com) — In a recent interview, “Sound of Freedom” star Jim Caviezel added more fuel to the opposition to the anti-child trafficking film by inexplicably comparing Donald Trump to Moses, the Huffington Post reported.
Caviezel plays Operation Underground Railroad founder Tim Ballard in the film about Ballard’s battle against child trafficking.
While the film has been popular with moviegoers, mainstream critics have dismissed “Sound of Freedom,” describing it as the stuff of QAnon conspiracy theories.
In his review of the film in Rolling Stone, critic Miles Klee accused both “Sound of Freedom” and star Jim Caviezel of promoting QAnon conspiracies. Klee also accused the real-life Tim Ballard of also being what he described as “Q-adjacent.”
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends” last week, Caviezel was asked by co-host Brian Kilmeade if there was more that could be done to stop child trafficking.
The actor said much more must be done, adding that the first thing we should do is elect Donald Trump president.
Caviezel explained that Donald Trump has vowed to “go after the traffickers.”
When asked if he had called the issue of child trafficking to Trump’s attention, Caviezel said he and fellow “Fox & Friends” guest, “Sound of Freedom” producer Eduardo Verástegui, had screened the film for Trump at his Bedminster club the night before.
He then said of the twice-indicted Trump, “This is the new Moses.” The star of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of The Christ” jokingly added that while he is still Jesus, Trump is “the new Moses” who will tell the Pharaoh to “let my people go free.”
