Government Employee Placed On “Indefinite Suspension” After Posting About Trump Assassination Attempt

(NationalUSNews.com) — On Saturday July 13, former President Donald Trump survived a public assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The United States has lost four presidents to assassination, and there have been more who have survived such attempts. When such an attack occurs to a public official who has enjoyed popular support by voters, it is a violent rejection of democracy. In the past, while many grumbled behind closed doors among friends and family, the public face of America united to denounce such actions and rally around the noble ideas that are put forth in the founding documents.

However, the rise of the internet has made everyone’s thoughts, both noble and disgusting, easily heard by all. Many people have gone public mourning the assassin’s failure to murder a former president and current democratically chosen presidential nominee. Most have been posting their violent rhetoric under internet pseudonyms. Some have brazenly made these remarks in person, on stage, or online using accounts with their real names, current photos, and employer details.

Certain right-wing people have made it their mission to expose the anti-Democratic and violent statements people are making about Trump to their employers. While many of the people openly wishing murder on a former president are just regular people, others have been discovered to be working for the government. One such person is Rick Notari, who is the Community Outreach Manager for Lackawanna County in Pennsylvania. The county has since put him on indefinite suspension.

Notari is not the only person to suffer consequences by going public with death wishes for former President Trump. Local volunteer firefighter Tony Bendele was apparently forced to step down from his position after he publicly expressed sorrow that Trump’s would-be assassin failed to kill him. Some are referring to these consequences as “cancel culture”. Others reject the characterization, saying that some of the more vicious remarks call for more attempts and point out that it is not legal to encourage people to commit crimes. Also, some comments may rise to the level of credible threats against the life of a former president and may result in investigations.
